STORY MISSIONS (ONBOARDING)
I directed our First-Time-User-Experience (FTUE) Missions that would play the moment users launched the game for the first time. The purpose of this was to tutorialize the basic actions of the game while doing so in an immersive, exciting way that showed off all of Battlefield's best elements.
I was in charge of all design, storyboarding, scripting, cinematic work, and general management of this project.
Once the newest iteration of this was put into the game, our completion rate for 1st match data increased from 30% to 78% globally.
The newest active version of the FTUE mission (seen right, top) was completed in 2 months start to finish, with an additional month for bug fixing.
HOME BASE ISLAND
I created a 'Home Base' Island in the project that not only served as a great way to tutorialize lesser known aspects of the game like recoil patterns (through a built in Firing Range) or Vehicle Tutorials, it also hosted; a timed training course with target elimination, a Horde Mode Arena with increasing difficult bot spawners, a simulated Conquest and Rush zone, a race course, a tank fighting section with completely destructible buildings, a sky-diving mini game, a working soccer field equipped with giant soccer ball & quads (Rocket League in essence). and more.
